We are incredibly proud to announce the appointment of Ann Budge OBE to the Stellar Omada Board of Advisors.

A trailblazing entrepreneur and one of Scotland’s most distinguished business leaders, Ann brings more than four decades of experience in technology, strategic scaling, and large-scale organisational transformation to our leadership team.

A Legacy of Tech Innovation

Ann’s journey is a blueprint for entrepreneurial success. After becoming the first woman to reach a senior management grade at Scottish & Newcastle, she co-founded Newell & Budge in 1985. Over the next 20 years, she transformed the bespoke software firm into an international powerhouse, employing over 1,000 specialists with a turnover exceeding £50 million before its high-profile acquisition by Sopra Group. Her impact on the sector has been recognised with numerous accolades, including the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award and induction into the Entrepreneurial Exchange Hall of Fame.

The “Queen Ann” Era at Hearts

To many, Ann is best known for her historic rescue of Heart of Midlothian Football Club. In 2014, she led the bid to save the club from administration, serving as Chairwoman and CEO for over a decade. Under her stewardship, the club saw a total transformation, doubling revenue, redeveloping Tynecastle Park, and pioneering a historic transition to fan ownership. Her commitment to digital literacy was also realised through the Heart of Midlothian Innovation Centre, which provides vital tech education to the next generation.

Coming Full Circle with Stellar Omada

Ann’s relationship with Stellar Omada is rooted in shared values. During her tenure at Hearts, she fostered a deep partnership with us, collaborating on community-focused digital inclusion initiatives.

“I’ve known and respected Ann for many years. With her values-led approach, she has always championed the close connection between tech and community and with her now joining Stellar Omada, it takes that relationship full-circle. It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to tap into her vast experience and expertise in the IT industry and help drive Stellar Omada forward to even more success”    — Colin Frame, CEO

In recognition of her extraordinary contributions to sport and the community, Ann was recently awarded an OBE in the 2026 King’s New Year Honours List. We are honoured to have her vision and leadership on our board as we enter our next phase of growth.
