An unforgettable evening celebrating innovation, inspiration and industry excellence

Last night at the prestigious British Business Awards 2025, Stellar Omada’s very own Colin Frame was named Entrepreneur of the Year. The award recognises an extraordinary journey that began in a caravan on the outskirts of Edinburgh and has grown into one of the UK’s most exciting and fast-growing technology businesses.

The evening was a celebration of innovation and leadership, and Colin was not just a recipient but also a host. He took to the stage to present the Finance Company of the Year award alongside some of the evening’s most recognisable guests. With speakers including Sir Bob Geldof, Sting, Rob Brydon and Irvine Welsh, it was a night to remember and a proud moment for both Colin and the Stellar team.

A journey built on “Why not?”

Colin’s entrepreneurial path began in 2018 when he founded Stellar Omada. He saw an opportunity to offer a more agile and client-focused alternative to the larger digital transformation consultancies. Drawing on his background in FinTech at RBS and Tesco Bank, he believed there was a better way to deliver solutions, with greater flexibility, commitment and quality of service.

From streamlining IPSL’s cheque approval process to securing Stellar’s first contract, Colin’s approach quickly gained traction. Today, Stellar is featured on the Deloitte Fast 500 EMEA list and delivers services to major banks and pension providers across the UK.

Not just a tech business

What truly sets Colin apart is his vision for a business that does more than generate profit. Under his leadership, Stellar has grown into a group of companies designed to support clients, communities and the next generation of tech talent through Stellar Elevate and Stellar Connect.

Named Scottish FinTech Leader of the Year in 2024, Colin has built a company culture centred on inclusion, respect and opportunity. Mental health first-aiders, volunteering programmes, personal development initiatives and an active social calendar are just some of the ways Stellar supports its people.

Colin is also a proud Scot with a deep love for sport and community. Under his guidance, Stellar became the main shirt sponsor of Heart of Midlothian FC. This partnership not only raised the company’s profile across Europe but also allowed Stellar to support the club’s Innovation Centre, running hands-on tech sessions for young people. Stellar also sponsors a wide range of grassroots sports teams and school STEM projects across Scotland.

A well-deserved moment in the spotlight

Winning Entrepreneur of the Year is a fitting tribute to Colin’s vision, passion and relentless drive. It recognises a leader who has built something meaningful, not just profitable. From his first steps in a caravan to mixing with industry icons on stage, Colin’s story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when you lead with purpose.

“Everyone that’s been by my side through the journey… thank you! I couldn’t have done it without you.” – Colin Frame

Congratulations Colin, from all of us at Stellar, we’re proud to be on this journey with you.
