Celebrating our first season as Hearts away strip sponsors

Before the new football season starts, we want to reflect on our first full year as the official Hearts away strip sponsors. Being a primary sponsor of the U.K.’s largest fan-owned club is a big deal for everyone at Stellar Omada.

Staff really value the association with Hearts and feel part of the success story that reflects the ambition, innovation and values of their own company. As the company grows, it has been amazing to see the Stellar Omada brand on show as the Club competes on a European stage.

A major highlight of the season was seeing the Stellar-branded away shirt featured in the FIFA 23 computer game, which inspired Hearts and Stellar to sponsor two local youngsters to participate in the inaugural Scottish eCup held at Hampden Park.

Long-established values. Pioneering approach.

Stellar has a deep connection with the club, sharing values that align perfectly with Hearts’ outstanding position as a force for good in the community. Our partnership has led to meaningful community engagement with initiatives such as our pioneering joint approach to helping youngsters from the local community get a leg-up into meaningful tech careers through workshops in the Heart of Midlothian Innovation Centre.

Stellar Omada is passionate about women and girls in football and tech and was proud to be the match day sponsor for the 2023 Women’s Capital Cup at Tynecastle. Women are still under-represented in the tech industry. We are bucking the trend at Stellar, with women playing a big part at all levels in our business. By investing in the talent of the future and working hard to address gender imbalances in STEM education, we are helping to engage more young women in tech.

This year, we are hosting five summer placements at Stellar Omada. Two of the young women in this cohort are gaining vital work experience, having been introduced to Stellar Omada at the course we ran with Hearts at the Innovation Centre. This is testament to the success of innovative approaches to engage girls in tech.

We chose Big Hearts Community Trust as our primary charity partner this year. We aim to raise £10k in 2023 to help fund activities such as Kinship Care, Memories, Schools Out, Welcome Through Football, That’s Me, and more to help people of all ages in the local community have a better quality of life. Twelve members of the Stellar Omada team will jump out of a plane in a sponsored skydive in October this year to raise funds for the charity.

Finally, we should highlight the brand awareness element of the relationship. Hearts support Stellar with initiatives on social media and the web, using their massive presence and clout to raise awareness of the Stellar Omada brand across digital channels and on the pitch through shirt sponsorship. Last year’s white away strip was the best-selling away strip of all time – until this year’s stunning pink kit hit the shelves and eclipsed last year’s record.

Hearts Directors’ have a strong pedigree in industry in general and tech in particular, and the Club has forged strong relationships with the business community across the Capital and beyond. Thanks to Hearts, Stellar has gained access to a whole host of new business contacts, providing new opportunities for further growth and development. The team at Hearts are great to work with and is always on hand to throw their support behind other Stellar-sponsored people, charitable and fundraising initiatives.

A positive outlook for next season

This year marks an exceptional milestone in the history of Hearts as the club celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2024. Stellar Omada is thrilled to be involved in an important season in the Club’s history. As well as supporting the team on the pitch, we are hoping to make this year even more special off it, as we aim to help 100 young people learn more about the tech industry through our partnership with the Hearts Innovation Centre.

We’ll launch the first Innovation Centre cohort of the new season shortly. Look out for more info on our social media channels and the Stellar Omada and Hearts websites if you or someone you know is in S3-S6 and want to get a head-start in the tech industry.

Stellar Omada Managing Director Colin Frame:

“Our relationship with Hearts is one of the things that helps Stellar Omada stand out. Having the Stellar name on the front of the away strip is very special for us, and we love working with the team at Hearts to support our ambitions of developing future tech leaders through the Innovation Centre. We look forward to continuing the partnership and creating more opportunities within the local community.”

Hearts’ Director for Community & Partnerships, Ann Park, commented:

Stellar Omada is proving to be an outstanding partner for Hearts. We are so proud to sport their logo on our away shirts. They are a very progressive company with a talented and motivated workforce. Their partnership with our Innovation Centre is helping to nurture the tech stars of tomorrow and this will support further business growth. Stellar’s involvement in free digital education programmes has been so inspiring for the young people involved and we are particularly delighted that they will play a part in our 150th celebrations in the year ahead.
