Last night, we hosted our 2023 Stellar Omada & Heart of Midlothian partnership event at Tynecastle Stadium.

Guests were treated to drinks, canapes and special guest appearances by first-team players Alex Cochrane and Cammy Devlin inside the hallowed home dressing room and manager’s office. Everyone then made their way to the stands where Stellar Omada CEO Colin Frame stood pitchside and spoke about the shared values and four pillars of our special relationship with Hearts – football, Innovation, charity and community.

Colin then reflected on a hugely positive year for Stellar Omada, including our rapid growth, recent investment deal with BGF, 2023 performance, and our investment in digital education, including the recent launch of Stellar Elevate and our upcoming Emerging Talent and Leaders programmes with top mentors, i2i. Finally, he spoke about how proud he was of the Stellar team being shortlisted for several awards in 2023 and the plan to go bigger and better next year!

Innovation and developing future tech talent

From there, everyone headed to Hearts’ Innovation Centre, where Stellar’s Talent Development Lead, Lyssa Hutton, presented Stellar Omada’s latest digital education initiative, Stellar Elevate, an innovative programme aimed at people who want to work in tech but don’t know where to start.

Lyssa then introduced Hearts’ Digital Education Strategic Programme Manager,  Ainsley Carnarvon, who spoke about the Fans of the Future app development workshops hosted by Hearts and Stellar. Innovation Centre and Stellar alumnae Zara Pearson and Evie Melvin then took the floor to answer questions on their experiences at the Innovation Centre and how they plan to explore the many opportunities in tech available to them once they graduate.

Up next, more special guests. It was Linlithgow Academy’s VEGA Racing team’s opportunity to take the evening up another gear with their excellent F1 in Schools presentation and demo. F1 in Schools is the largest youth STEM project in the world. Stellar Omada sponsors VEGA Racing – who came first in the Scottish finals and second in the Nationals – to help fund their ambitions of winning the World Championships in 2024.

VEGA Racing’s appearance was smash hit! The confidence, success and ambition of the VEGA Racing Team inspired everyone. They have a World Championship trip to pay for in 2024 and grabbed the opportunity to network and build their sponsorship portfolio.

Charity, Community and Football

Guests were then given an impassioned speech from Big Hearts CEO Craig Wilson, who spoke about Stellar’s impact on the community through charitable fundraising and volunteering efforts. The Stellar team has smashed the £10k target set at the beginning of 2023 by raising £30k this year and will go a long way to funding a deserving array of Big Hearts’ community initiatives.

The last act of the evening was a special Q&A with Stellar CEO Colin Frame and Hearts CEO Andrew McKinley, who spoke about the special bond and the future direction of the partnership.

We want to thank everyone who made it to our ‘stadium tour with a difference’ to witness a fun-packed and vibrant evening. It was wonderful to see so many old and new friends at the event, and it is a testament to the unique community surrounding Stellar Omada.
